New Belgium Brewing to host “Tour de Fat” stop in New Orleans this Sunday

New Belgium Brewing—the people behind Fat Tire—will bring their “Tour de Fat” to the Joy Theater in New Orleans on Sunday, June 11. The party will feature sets from Corey Harper, Colin Lake and Scot Nery, as well as a dance contest and fashion show.

Much like other stops on the tour, this Sunday’s show will feature a variety of circus performers, vaudeville acts, magicians, comedians and more. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes to the event, and the winner of the night’s costume contest will go home with a New Belgium cruiser bike. The show is 21+, but that’s because attendees will be able to sample enjoy New Belgium beers like Fat Tire, Voodoo Ranger IPA and Citradelic Tangerine IPA.

Since 2000, Tour de Fat has raised close to $5 million for non-profit partners and hopes to generate more than $600,000 in support of local causes this year. The New Orleans stop will benefit Bike Easy, an organization works to improve bicycle infrastructure and safety in the New Orleans area.

“Biking is on a roll in Greater New Orleans, and Tour de Fat coming to town adds to that momentum,” said Dan Favre, executive director of Bike Easy. “We’re excited to work with New Belgium to create a joyful evening to celebrate bikes, beer, costumes, and music, all while supporting our work to make bicycling easy, safe, and fun for everyone in Greater New Orleans!”

Tickets for Tour de Fat’s New Orleans edition are currently on sale.
