New Orleans live music venue Tipitina’s launches concert web series

Tipitina’s, one of the most beloved and missed venues for live music in New Orleans, has announced the launch of “Tipitina’s.TV.” The web series will air concerts performed on the Tip’s stage, each of which will feature some of the city’s most in-demand talents.

Presented by Crystal Hot Sauce, Tipitina’s.TV premieres its first season on August 15 and airs episodes weekly through September 19. The schedule of performers is as follows:

August 15: Galactic
August 22: Rebirth Brass Band
August 29: Anders Osborne
September 5: Tank and the Bangas
September 12: Samantha Fish
September 19: The Radiators

Founded in 1977, Tipitina’s is facing an uncertain future as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic forces city and state leaders to prohibit indoor gatherings of more than 50 people, effectively shuttering any live entertainment. Tipitinas.TV is addressing the absence of concerts in a way that both allows music fans to experience a semblance of pre-pandemic nightlife while also providing support to the venue itself and local musicians.

Like an in-person concert, Tipitina’s is charging viewers for “tickets” to watch episodes of Tipitinas.TV. These range from $11.99 per show or $49.99 for a subscription to the six-episode season. Soon, there will be a VIP package available.

The inaugural season will feature a 6-week concert series that airs every Saturday night from August 15 – September 19, 2020. Tickets are currently available for $11.99 per show or $49.99 for the full series subscription. A VIP package will soon be available.
