New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic Plans a Day of Self-Care This Friday

New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic (NOMC) and Assistance Foundation (NOMAF) has planned a full day of soothing, fun, socially-distanced self-care activities for the community on Friday, November 6, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at A.L. Davis Park, 2600 LaSalle Street.  NOMC and NOMAF invite the community to participate in “healthful, uplifting, socially-distant activities” which include healing dance by Bloom Dance, community yoga by the Ohm Well and Dancing Grounds, music from DJ Jubilee, and free, no wait COVID-19 testing from CORE.

“If you have interacted with people outside of your household recently (think Halloween activities), testing can stop the asymptomatic spread of COVID-19,” say event organizers. HIV and Hep-C testing will also be available from Odyssey House as well as 100 free shots from the New Orleans Health Department.

Open to all musicians, culture bearers, artists, hospitality workers and their families, the foundation challenges guests to invite 3 friends, bandmates, family members to make an appointment and get tested.
