November Happenings at the New Orleans Jazz Museum

There is a lot happening this month at the New Orleans Jazz Museum, including OffBeat’s relocation to the museum. Kicking off this month, we will have a Cash and Carry sale from our current location, 421 Frenchmen Street, Suite 200 on Monday, November 9 from noon-4:30 p.m. Furniture, magazines, art, and more will be available, some priced affordably and some for free. Cash only, no refunds will be issued.

The following events are on the docket for New Orleans Jazz Museum this month:

LIVE FROM THE JAZZ MUSEUM BALCONY, TUESDAYS at 5 p.m.

Enjoy socially-distanced sets from outside the Jazz Museum (or on the terraces of Louisiana Pizza Kitchen or The Italian Barrel) as bands play from the balcony. Or livestream from home. Michael Watson will perform November 10, TBC Brass Band is scheduled for November 17, and Anais St. John plays November 24. Livestream via our Facebook here.

 

JFA ALL-STAR JAZZ ENSEMBLE, WEDNESDAYS & THURSDAYS at 2 p.m.

The New Orleans Jazz Museum and Jazz Foundation of America present an all-star jazz ensemble virtual performances every Wednesday and Thursday at 2pm. Tune in at facebook.com/nolajazzmuseum/live to watch for free.

 

LOUISIANA PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA TICKETED PERFORMANCES, WEDNESDAY, November 4 & THURSDAY, November 19 at 6 p.m.

Performing Mozart and Beethoven Quintents will be LPO performers Yuki Tanaka and Daniel Yue on violin; Ila Rondeau and Bruce Owen on viola; and David Rosen on cello. Tickets must be purchased for this seated event for $35. Note: The originally scheduled performance of October 29 of Mozart and Beethoven Quintents has been rescheduled to Wednesday, November 4. The LPO will perform the Quintents once again Thursday, November 19. Tickets are available here. 

 

QUARANTUNES, FRIDAYS at 2 p.m.

 

The New Orleans Jazz Museum hosts virtual concerts with a mix of jazz musicians, all performing from their homes. This free online series, broadcasting to music fans around the world, highlights the rich culture and history of New Orleans. HispaNOLA Live!, FRIDAYS at 3 p.m.

The Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy hosts a live virtual series celebrating New Orleans’ Latin American and Hispanic cultures. Upcoming live performances (that will also be streamed virtually) include Amigos do Samba, November 6; Los Nortenos del Sur (Maria/Simon), November 13; Muévelo (Margie Perez), November 20.
