Soul Rebels to Join Forces with Hip-Hop Star Joey Bada$$

New Orleans brass ensemble The Soul Rebels have always incorporated a decent amount of hip-hop into their sound, even going so far as to remix an assortment of rap hits for their 2013 Power = Power mixtape. Now, the group is preparing to dip its toes in the hip-hop waters once more as they gear up for a pair of shows with popular Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$.

12004031_10153575679271136_3978195642652021738_nThe artists will join forces for a previously announced performance at the Voodoo Music Experience on October 30, as well as a pre-festival gig at the House of Blues New Orleans on October 29. The events will mark Joey Bada$$ and the Soul Rebels first on-stage collaboration since a 2014 show at the Brooklyn Bowl in New York City, when the rapper sat in with the brass band and Prodigy of legendary hip-hop duo Mobb Deep. Joey Bada$$ also worked a Soul Rebels sample into “O.C.B.,” a track from his 2015 debut studio album B4.DA.$$.
