Tedeschi Trucks Band Announces New Orleans Show

Tedeschi Trucks Band will be bringing their heavy blues rock act to the Saenger Theater on Saturday, September 16.

More than 15 years ago, Derek Trucks who was playing with the Allman Brothers met then-burgeoning blueswoman Susan Tedeschi for the first time at that specific venue in New Orleans. The two married two years later and are now leading the 11-piece, Grammy-winning band.

My personal feeling at the time was that you gotta [sic] be willing to shed your skin, try something new.” Trucks shared with OffBeat in a 2013 interview. “You can’t expect to play a weekend here or there and have it grow into anything. You lose the magic. With my solo band, I thought that we were able to leave it at a great point, a high point.”

Last year, Tedeschi Trucks Band delivered a booming performance at the Acura Stage of the Jazz & Heritage Festival, accompanied by ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons and Texas blues veteran Jimmie Vaughan.
