The Instigation Festival pairing New Orleans and Chicago musicians returns

The Instigation Festival pairing New Orleans and Chicago musicians returns January 30 – February 2 at several venues across the city. It is a week of improvised and interesting interdisciplinary collaboration fostering connections between these cities’ creative arts communities while expanding the scope to include European performers.

The first performance will be on January 30 at the Domino Record Shack at 4 p.m. and will feature Josh Berman and Ben Lamar Gay performing “For jaimie (also aliens and tacos. Like two of them).”

At 8 p.m. the same day, the Instigation x Consortium will take place at Hotel Saint Vincent and will feature Cassie Watson Francillon with Lia Kohl, Ben LaMar Gay, Kr3wcial and Simon Lott.

On January 31, Jeff Albert, Mikel Patrick Avery and Damon Locks will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Nunemaker Auditorium at Loyola University.

Following this will be the Instigation meets Progression show at Chickie Wah Wah starting at 8 p.m. It will feature Helen Gillet, Lia Kohl, Martin Masakowski, Rob Frye, Ben LaMar Gay, Sasha Masakowski, and Sasha Masakowski.

On February 1, LaTasha Bundy and Damon Locks will perform at The New Quorum at 7:30 p.m. followed by Haley Fohr and Steve Marquette at the SONO House at 9:30 p.m.

The final performance will be February 2 at 7:30 p.m. called The Instigation Orchestra and will feature Mikel Patrick Avery, Josh Berman, Rob Frye, Lia Kohl, James Singleton, and The Instigation Orchestra performing “Emurmerations” by Lia Kohl.
