Tipitina’s and Crystal Hot Sauce present free concerts as charitable fundraisers

Tipitina’s and Crystal Hot Sauce have teamed up to offer a free weekend of shows on Friday, September 10, and Saturday, September 11, in an effort to raise financial support, awareness, and supplies for Second Harvest Food Bank and New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic.

Performers scheduled for these shows will include Billy Iuso with Brad Walker, Reggie Scanlan, Andriu Yanovski, and Ezell Smith on Friday and The Quickening + Bakey’s Brew on Saturday. Doors will open at 8 p.m., and the shows will start at 9 p.m. Both shows are limited to ages 21 and over and no tickets will be required for entry.

A donation has been made by Tip-It Foundation to both organizations to further assist their efforts around New Orleans and South Louisiana. Tipitina’s will also act as a temporary drop-off location for canned food and cleaning supplies for the organizations.

In accordance with venue policy, all guests looking to attend will be required to provide proof of valid Covid-19 vaccination along with a matching, valid ID for verification, or a negative Covid-19 test performed within the previous 72-hours. This documentation needs to be directly from the healthcare provider that performed the vaccination or test. Such proof may be displayed on a smartphone or presented as a physical copy. Masking of all attendees is also required indoors consistent with city guidelines.

Second Harvest Food Bank is an affiliated ministry of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans, a member of Feeding America, and a United Way Partner Agency. We lead the fight against hunger and building food security in South Louisiana by providing food access, advocacy, education and disaster response. Second Harvest provides food to more than 700 partners and programs across 23 parishes, from the Mississippi border to the Texas state line.

The New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic has provided medical care to musicians and performing artists in New Orleans for 24 years. They offer comprehensive medical services, social services and mental health for musicians, artists, performers, cultural workers, tradition bearers of New Orleans (Mardi Gras Indians, Social Aid & Pleasure Club Members), service industry workers and more. They serve any patient over the age of 19 and their family, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. The NOMC also accepts private insurance, Medicare and Medicaid.

Tip-It Foundation is a donor-advised fund administered by the Greater New Orleans Foundation. Contributions to the fund are tax deductible and work in partnership with similar charities to further their ambition.
