Beat Café: Robin Barnes and Pat Casey, Lena Prima and Tim Fahey

In episode one of Beat Café, a new radio program hosted by OffBeat editor David Johnson on WHIV 102.3 FM, two New Orleans couples who share a marital and musical bond discuss their lives both on stage and off.

Vocalist Robin Barnes and bass player Pat Casey regularly perform as Da Lovebirds in a residency at the Peacock Room of the Kimpton Hotel. They discuss their story of love at first sight and the challenges they have overcome through the pandemic.

Singer Lena Prima, the daughter of famed swing musicians Louis Prima and Gia Maione, grew up in Las Vegas where she met her husband, bass guitarist Tim Fahey. The couple relocated to Lena’s father’s hometown of New Orleans where the Lena Prima Band performs twice a week at the Carousel Lounge of the Monteleone Hotel.

Beat Café airs every Wednesday at 9 a.m. CT on WHIV. Tune in worldwide at whivfm.org/listen.
