Delfeayo Marsalis Brings New Orleans to Brazil

Delfeayo Marsalis has made his way down to Brazil, where he will kick off a run of shows that will promote an exchange between Brazilian music and New Orleans jazz.

The renowned trombonist and his sextet–vocalist Sharon Martin, saxophonist David Caceres, pianist Kyle Roussell, bassist David Pulphus, and drummer Peter Varnado–will get started tonight with a set at Sao Paolo’s Bourbon Street Music Club. The group will then make its way to the Green Coast, where they will perform at the inaugural Mangaratiba Jazz & Blues Festival.

Finally, the outing will wrap up on October 25 with a set 5º MPB Jazz Fest n Natal. The gig will take place on the last day of the fesival.
