The Boss Is Back: Flow Tribe Returns To New Orleans September 9

Recent OffBeat Magazine cover artist Flow Tribe will perform at Tipitina’s on September 9. The group’s Mannie Fresh-produced “Boss” LP dropped in April and the New Orleans natives have been busy touring all summer, but in the coming days return to their home base for a jamming, must-see gig.

For those who have yet to experience Flow Tribe live, it’s worth mentioning their sound is truly an amalgam of all things New Orleans, plus some extra oomph. A six-member funk-rock outfit comprised of K.C. O’Rorke, John-Michael Early, Russell Olschner, Chad Penot, Bryan Santos, and Mario Palmisano, the band is a self-described “weird musical organism.” “We have a New Orleans-influenced sound, with that New Orleans backbeat. It’s rhythm and dance music,” keyboard player John-Michael Early told us in May.

Locals can catch the hometown heroes on Saturday, September 9 at Tip’s (501 Napoleon Ave.) at 9p.m. The show is 18+ and $15 tickets are available here. The band will be supported by opening act, Stoop Kids.
