LPs/EPs

Mike Dillon & Punkadelick: Inflorescence (Royal Potato Family)
Mike Dillon & Punkadelick’s debut album shows off Dillon’s mastery as a jazz percussionist in a collection of genre-defying instrumentals.

Billy Iuso (with Reggie Scanlan, Joe Ashlar, Eddie Christmas, Renée Gros and Sari Jordan): 52hz (Independent)
A regular collaborator with artists like Anders Osborne and George Porter Jr., Billy Iuso released his last album Home By The Sea in 2018 and returns with another funky jam on 52hz blending gospel, soul and country.

Jason Marsalis: Music for Meditation and Relaxation, Vol. 2 (K’Love Records)
Inspired by YouTube ASMR videos, vibraphone virtuoso Jason Marsalis delivers a calming, hypnotic meditation album with beach sounds and lingering chords.

SPSHL SNWFLK: F Minus (Prima Materia Records)
Psychedelic post-punk that’s definitely “spshl” with its off-kilter delivery, dense lyricism and odd genre fusions.

Russell Welch: Russell Welch Trio Live in Asheville! (Independent)
Simple jazz guitar recorded live in Asheville deftly exploring the many nuances of New Orleans’ strings.

Singles – New Releases in New Orleans (1/30/23)

Planet of the Little Green Men: Arrival / Monster in Your Head
Psychedelic acid rock with Cake-esque talk-singing to aggressive punk shouting and speed without sacrificing the high-fidelity instrumentation much like British experimental rock band Black Midi.

Private Pile: Gates Down/Behind Bars
A dense boom-bap style hip-hop track and a piano-driven jazz rap track with tasteful modern production a la The Alchemist.
