Small Business Association hosts webinar for shuttered venue grants

The Small Business Association (SBA) is hosting an information webinar on March 30, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. CT, for entertainment venues or related businesses that have been financially hit by the pandemic, including music clubs, live performing arts organization operators, movie theaters, talent representatives and relevant museum, zoo, or aquarium operators.

This informational webinar will highlight the opening of the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) application which will be open for applications on April 8, 2021.

The webinar will cover what documentation eligible entities will need to apply for a SVOG, insight on what the SVOG application process will look like and more.

As a reminder, all potential SVOG applicants must be registered with the federal government’s System for Awards Management (also known as SAM.gov) to apply. As the SBA prepares to open the SVOG applications, the dedicated SBA website, which includes frequently asked questions, video tutorials (including one on how to get registered in SAM.gov), a preliminary application application checklist, and eligibility requirements, is the best source for program information.

Eligible businesses need to have been in operation as of February 29, 2020, and if the venue or promoter received Payroll Protection Program funding after December 27, 2020, the grant eligibility amount will be reduced by the PPP loan amount.

The webinar will be recorded.
