Threadhead Foundation Start Accepting Grant Applications Tuesday

The Threadhead Record Foundation is once again accepting grant applications. The foundation is the 501(c)3 non-profit arm of Threadhead Records, and it is once again offering $3,000 grants to musicians whose work “promote(s) the cultural heritage of New Orleans.”

According to a recent press release:

The Foundation seeks to assist those musicians whose work is in this style and do not have the resources to produce and distribute their work, or in some cases to actively create their music because they lack basic financial resources to sustain their lives. The purpose of these grants is to support musicians in creating music projects to encourage and promote New Orleans music and cultural heritage.

Grant application will be accepted starting Tuesday, June 1 and will close July 1. Artists receiving grants will be notified by July 15 and the work proposed in the grant must take place between August 1, 2010 and December 31, 2010.
