Blue skies, smiling faces, dancing feet and spirited music of many styles defined the return of the French Quarter Festival after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. More than 1,800 musicians—most based in New Orleans or surrounding regions of Louisiana—filled 20 stages for four days across many blocks of the Vieux Carré, stretching from Woldenberg Park to Jackson Square, the Moon Walk, French Market and the grounds of the New Orleans Jazz Museum.
